। ॥ २६ ॥
In plain words
When I must walk that road — no end to it, no shade, nowhere to stop, no water, nobody else on it — then, Mahādeva, block that road of Death and give me one that delights the heart.
Close to the Sanskrit
When I shall travel a road boundless, shadowless, without resting-place, bereft of waters or of people — then, blocking that road of Death, O Mahādeva, grant to me a road pleasing to the mind.
