Verse 39

अधिष्ठानं चिदाभासो बुद्धिरेतत्त्रयं यदा ।अज्ञानादेकवद्भाति जीव इत्युच्यते तदा ॥ ३६ ॥

In plain words

The ground, the reflected light of consciousness, and the intellect: when ignorance makes these three appear as one thing, that one thing is called the jīva — the individual self.
