The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Svātmaprakāśikā

Verse 49

In plain words

Untouched by birth, death, joy, or sorrow; far beyond caste, conduct, family, and lineage; the pure awareness that serves as the ground for this entire shifting world—that eternal reality is who I am. In that realization, I rest in absolute silence.

Close to the Sanskrit

Deodnoid of birth, death, happiness, and sorrow, distant from caste, conduct, family, and lineage; the cause of this world through the apparent transformation of consciousness, that I am always—thus I take refuge in silence.
