In plain words

I am the consumer of food, I am the consumer of food! I am the maker of the sacred verse, triple-born in my creative power! I am the first-born of the cosmic order, older than the shining gods, residing at the very heart of immortality. Whoever shares me with the hungry, he truly preserves me. But those who hoard their food without sharing—them I devour as my own food! I have embraced the entire universe in my majesty. I am the radiant, golden light. Whoever realizes this truth—this is the secret teaching.

Close to the Sanskrit

I am the eater of food, I am the eater of food! I am the maker of the verse, I am the maker of the verse, I am the maker of the verse! I am the first-born of truth, prior to the gods, at the navel of immortality. Whoever gives me, he indeed protects me. I eat as food him who eats food without giving. I have encompassed the entire universe. Golden is the light. He who knows thus—this is the Upanishad.
