Deep sleep, dream, waking — the three of them hold together by naming alone, and so they are not real. "I am what is real; I am the knowing." The one who stays bound to that truth is set free.

Because of being a mere holding-on-to-speech, the triad beginning with deep sleep is, however, unreal; 'and I am real, knowing' — thus, one whose pledge is to truth is set free.
