What could any teacher hand to an ignorant person through some pramāṇa? Nothing. It comes with no means of knowledge at all: everything other than it falls away, and it stands as what is left.

What could anyone make an ignorant person grasp by means of any pramāṇa at all? Rather, without any pramāṇa whatsoever, through the removal of the other, [it is known] as the remainder.
