Scripture says that even consequences otherwise inevitable may be averted through expiatory disciplines such as charity, mantra, vow and sacrifice. Likewise, however vast accumulated karma may be, trust the Vedic declaration that the fire of Knowledge burns it: liberation is therefore possible.
