The Bhāṭṭa says that Consciousness conditioned by Ajñāna is Ātma because Śruti says, 'He is a mass of consciousness and is indeed Ānandamaya'; because both illumination and non-illumination are present in Suṣupti; and because of experiences such as 'I do not know myself.'
