Prose-section 22
In plain words
The vital sheath consists of prana together with the five organs of action. It animates the food sheath and enables bodily activity. Yet this vital force moves like air, lacks knowledge of what is desirable or undesirable and of what belongs to itself or another, and remains dependent. It too is therefore distinguished from the Self.
Word for word
Prana joined with the five organs of action constitutes the vital sheath. The food sheath already described is filled by it and engages in its activities. Since the vital sheath is a modification of air, moves in and out like air, knows nothing of desirable or undesirable, another’s or its own, and is dependent upon another, it too cannot be the Self.
