In plain words

Even when these go forth, there is no loss, because he is the knower. But, it may be objected, in this way, in the states of creation, maintenance and dissolution, which are made of their appearing as different from one another, his nature would have become otherwise. To quiet this doubt he says: Even when these, creation and the rest, go forth, that is, emerge, there is no loss, no slipping, for this yogin, because he is the knower: because he is the perceiver made of reflective awareness whose nature is the wonder of the fourth. For were that lost, nothing at all would shine. As it says in the same place: "When the spread of ignorance perishes, the nature does not perish; because it is without arising and destruction, its perishing is not real. Since ignorance is spoken of figuratively through arising and destruction, how can what has not perished in its nature be called perished?" This very point is stated in the Spanda by: "And here there are two states, named effect and agency; of them, being an effect perishes, but agency does not perish." And: "Only the effort turned towards an effect is lost here; when it is lost, the unknowing one thinks, 'I am lost'. But the inner state, the seat of the quality of all-knowingness, can never be lost, for no other is perceived."
