In plain words
This commentary, lovely in its agreement with the scriptures and its harmony with the Spanda, has been shown on the Śiva Sūtras, for the sake of the Śaiva secret. Let those of good merit, to cut off becoming, savour clearly this Śivasūtravimarśinī, overflowing with the essence and savour of a nectar ever new that streams from showing the secret of Śiva. This, which kindles relish in those who have lost their taste, brings understanding to its highest ripening; by its mere tasting, like a flood of nectar, it takes away the fear of death, old age, birth and the rest. Covered over by the body, prāṇa, pleasure and the rest, the limited places of I-ness, a person does not discern his own consciousness, very great, belonging to the Great Lord, his own. But he who, through the teaching, would see the universe all around, in the midst of the nectar-ocean of awakening, like a lump of its foam, is declared to be, directly, the one Śiva. Cross swiftly the ocean of saṃsāra; set your foot unmoving in the supreme state, brimming with the joy of light that is eternal. Reflect on the sūtra spoken by Śiva, blazing with the secret: through true reasoning that plays forth with force, it grants the leap within. Thus ends the third unmeṣa, called the Revealing of the Āṇava Upāya, in the Śivasūtravimarśinī composed by the glorious Kṣemarāja, who lives at the lotus feet of the glorious Abhinavagupta, great devotee of the Great Lord and best of teachers. And this Śivasūtravimarśinī is complete. The work of the glorious Kṣemarāja: may the Śivasūtravimarśinī, whose purpose is the awakening to the oneness of Śiva and one's own Self, be for the well-being of those who reflect.
