In plain words
Gārgya said, "The person made of shadow — him indeed I worship as Brahman." Ajātaśatru said to him, "Do not draw me into talk about him. I worship him as death." He who worships him thus reaches his full span of life in this world, and death does not come to him before his time.

In plain words
In the external shadow and darkness, as well as internally within veiling ignorance and in the heart, resides a single deity. Its defining characteristic is death. The reward is identical to what was stated before, with the specific distinction that freedom from diseases and other afflictions is attained through the absence of premature death.
