In plain words
And it is said elsewhere too: All these beings run about day after day seeking to lay hold of food. The sun takes food with his rays, and by that he burns. Sprinkled with food these breaths digest. Fire blazes up by food. This was fashioned by Brahman out of a desire for food. Therefore let a man worship food as the Self. So it is said: "From food are beings born; being born, they grow by food; it is eaten and it eats beings, and therefore it is called food."
