In plain words

Out of fear of him the wind blows; out of fear the sun rises; out of fear of him fire and Indra, and death runs as the fifth. Now this is the measuring of bliss. Suppose there is a young man, a good young man, learned in the Veda, most quick, most firm, most strong, and this whole earth were full of wealth for him: that is one measure of human bliss. A hundred measures of human bliss are one bliss of the Gandharvas among men, and of a man learned in the Veda who is unstruck by desire. A hundred measures of the bliss of the Gandharvas among men are one bliss of the Gandharvas among the gods, and of a man learned in the Veda who is unstruck by desire. A hundred measures of the bliss of the Gandharvas among the gods are one bliss of the fathers who dwell in their long-lasting world, and one bliss of the gods born into their godhead, and of a man learned in the Veda who is unstruck by desire. A hundred measures of the bliss of the gods born into their godhead are one bliss of the gods who became gods by works, who reach the gods by works, and of a man learned in the Veda who is unstruck by desire. A hundred measures of the bliss of the gods by works are one bliss of the gods, and of a man learned in the Veda who is unstruck by desire. A hundred measures of the bliss of the gods are one bliss of Indra, and of a man learned in the Veda who is unstruck by desire. A hundred measures of the bliss of Indra are one bliss of Bṛhaspati, and of a man learned in the Veda who is unstruck by desire. A hundred measures of the bliss of Bṛhaspati are one bliss of Prajāpati, and of a man learned in the Veda who is unstruck by desire. A hundred measures of the bliss of Prajāpati are one bliss of Brahman, and of a man learned in the Veda who is unstruck by desire. And he who is in a person and he who is yonder in the sun — he is one.
