In plain words
You took me. I did not come; you took me, and you did it by grace. And now you will not show me your face. So say I stay in this dark, grinding world, pining and shaking, and one day I put the body down. Then what? Where do I go? Ask the lotus. It does not open because it decides to. It opens because the sun has come up. You are the sun the sun rises to. You stand there, and grace pours off you like a waterfall down a hill that has no water on it. That is what I am asking. Not for comfort. For the sun.
Word for word
By grace you took possession of me. If you, having not granted me the sight of you — if that is how it is, and pining and writhing in a world that darkness torments I let go of this body, what will my state be? Will the lotus blossom without seeing the sun? Abiding as the sun to the sun, O Love that is called the great Aruna hill, where grace welling forth abundantly swells there as a waterfall!
