In plain words
This body is as inert as a clay pot; nothing in it ever shines out as 'I'. So — I am not this. Look at sleep: the body lies there like a corpse, and still, even then, our own being keeps its own nature, unbroken. Then who is this doer called 'I', and does he exist at all? Ask that, and for those who simply remain, within the cave of the heart, 'I am He' — the whole of it, Arunachala, Shiva, pervading everything — shines out by itself, with no one lighting it.
Word for word
The body is inert, the equal of a pot; for this there is no shining called 'I' — therefore: 'I am not.' By our nature, which even therein keeps its own kind in the death-like sleep where the body is a corpse — 'Who am I?' — which I-doer is it that exists? Having known this, within the heart-cave of those who abide, 'I am He' — the full Arunagiri Shiva, the all-pervading, will shine of itself.
