The works of Ramaṇa Maharṣi

Upadeśa Undiyār

Verse 24

In plain words

God and you. In what you are — not what you have, not what you can do — there is one thing there, not two. What differs is the fitting: a body, a scope, a set of limits. And even that is not quite the difference. The difference is the *noticing* of the fitting. Not the limits themselves. The sense of being limited. Take away the sense of it and there was never a second party.

Word for word

By their existing nature, Īśa and the jīvas are all one reality. Fly up, undī! Only the awareness of the adjuncts differs. Fly up, undī!
