In plain words
Among the Vedas, I am the Sāma Veda. Among the gods — the Rudras, the Ādityas, and all the rest — I am Vāsava, Indra himself. Among the eleven senses, beginning with sight, I am the mind — that very faculty of resolve and doubt. And among all living beings, I am sentience itself — the constant shining of the intellect at work within the whole body-mind complex.
