In plain words
Life, vitality, strength, health, happiness, and delight -- these six together -- and the foods that increase all six of them: that is what is meant. Those foods -- 'rasya' means full of good taste, 'snigdha' means rich and oily, 'sthira' means they stay with you, lasting long in the body, and 'hrdya' means they are pleasing to the heart. Foods like that are what a sattvic person loves -- exactly what a sattvic person wants.
