External objects are of no use for the sthitaprajña's Ātmānanda; he needs no help from them. Ānanda is naturally present within each one. With a pure antaḥkaraṇa, he is content in the Ātma. These are marks known only within oneself. They are not things that show outwardly to anyone else. It can be known only by oneself, within oneself; in no other way is it possible. Because Arjuna did not understand this, Kṛṣṇa made known the essence of it, which he taught again, in a simple style, in the fifty-sixth, fifty-seventh and fifty-eighth ślokas.
