Passage 20

In plain words

“In the same way, whatever else may or may not come to man, death cannot fail to come. So every person must learn well beforehand with what kind of thought he is to make that moment holy. Those who have not learnt this will have to crown defeat, or undergo just whatever befalls them. People wage a war in order to win it; no one wages it in order to lose. In the same way, man hopes to reach the highest goal; he does not wish to remain in a low state. Must one not make the effort beforehand in a way that befits whatever one wishes for? So every man must make efforts so that holy thought comes at the time of departure, the seventh. Whoever does so attains Me,” so the Paramātma taught Arjuna.
