Passage 10

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

“Brother-in-law! In the Upaniṣads Mukti is set out as being of two kinds. One is ‘Sadyomukti’; the second is ‘Krama Mukti’. Sadyomukti is also called ‘Kaivalya Mukti’. Such people need not go to any world. They reach God then and there. That is an eternal state. All other attainments, whatever they may be, are impermanent. As long as the fruit of the meritorious karmas one has done lasts, so long one stays in heaven and the other worlds, and then one must come back again. For these there is no such thing as ‘laya’. Laya is only for those who have attained Kaivalya.”
