“He must be not only free of envy but also full of śraddhā. Without śraddhā men cannot accomplish even the smallest task. And not men alone: even worms and insects, cattle, birds and beasts of any kind cannot accomplish their tasks. Suppose people do karma without śraddhā: they cannot receive even its fruit. And if you say that the fruit was obtained after all? It will not be pure at all. So great is śraddhā. Without it, anyone, whoever he may be, cannot obtain pure fruit.”
