Do you see? Even today many eminent people who propagate the Gītā hand out empty meanings to the world, but they do not practise that Gītā in the form of experience. A meaning, a propagation that is not put into practice, only does harm to the Gītā. As if they had faith in it — saying that the Gītā is their very life-breath, that there is no great king of books beyond it, that it came from the mouth of God — they show Bhakti and śraddhā, shed tears of joy, place it upon their bodies, press it to their eyes, set it on altars and worship it, and honour it with great display! Those honours and courtesies go only to the paper, to the book, and no further! If they truly give so much honour to the book itself, how much more place must they give, in practice, to what it holds within? No! There is no experience at all. Had they experience, they would not sell their propagation for money; they would strive for God's grace. Among today's propagators of the Gītā, there is not even one in ten million who strives for grace. If there were, he would give no place to money of this kind.
