The honour they give to the book of the Gītā they do not give to its content. There are thousands upon thousands who, the moment they see such sacred and sovereign books as the Gītā, the Rāmāyaṇa, the Bhāgavata and the Bhārata, press them to their eyes, place them on their heads, set them on seats in their worship rooms, strew flowers and akṣatas over them, close their eyes, shed streams of tears and bow down. But the honour they give, the worship they perform and the salutations they offer are only for the paper, not for the meanings within.
