Passage 3

In plain words

Today it is not Bhārata alone: because injustice, wrongdoing and Asatya have taken on a demonic form and are dancing the dance of dissolution, the whole world is suffering in fear and confusion. If you, who hold a place of authority over students, offer your lives for the growth of the children, the welfare of the world will come about; whatever work you do, whatever you look upon, whatever thought you think, foster Prema. If you do not foster the feeling of Prema, the whole world cannot escape becoming the form of dissolution. Religion is needed to set the mind right. Of all religions, the religion of Prema alone is the best. ‘Love is God; Live in Love’: that alone must be the guiding rule of your life.

If you enquire a little deeply, you, the teachers, are yourselves the real students. Your students read their books for some eight or ten years, take their degrees and go off into jobs. But the study that never ends, all life long, is yours alone! Those who give learning all life long, receive learning and rejoice in it are you yourselves! ‘Dil mē Rāṃ, hāt mē kāṃ,’ said the poet. All of it is nothing but Rāma's work. All of it is nothing but service offered to God, nothing but service to God's children!

Fill your hearts with these sacred feelings, and through your words, through your deeds, through your thoughts, pass on to the children the special heritage of the people of Bhārata: the spirit of tyāga, forbearance and harmony. Do Good; Be Good; See Good. Mere words bear no fruit.
