In plain words
With the change of the times science has gained an extraordinary sway and has flourished and spread, and so people's minds have gone astray, and they walk only along paths contrary to the essence of religion. For example: you must cherish your mother and father and show them your gratitude. You must receive the wealth of your elders' experience, respect them and follow them; you must speak only Satya. All religions teach that you must not take to injustice and wrongdoing.
But each one argues his own case and carries his point: that throwing aside the words of mother and father is the very mark of the intelligent, that disregarding elders is itself good manners, that we will not get ahead unless we speak Asatya, that victory comes only through injustice and wrongdoing. Everyone struts about, proud that only his own teaching is right and that all the others take the wrong road.
The command of God
When you come to know what the purpose of religion is, what man's goal is, and what the true relation is among the world, the jīva and Īśvara, feelings of difference do not arise. Whatever religion one believes in, if one holds śraddhā and Bhakti for it and practises its discipline, there will be no argument and quarrel.
