In plain words
Giving up His own comfort and His own joy, He offered up the five prāṇas of His life to relieve the suffering of others. To give up Ahaṅkāra and mamakāra: that is the greatest sacrifice of all. To give up the cravings of the body is a sublime sacrifice. To do good to those who have done you harm is also, in itself, a great spirit of sacrifice. So on the birthday of Jesus, who lived such a life of sacrifice, you must cherish the poor and take up the service of the downtrodden.
In the religion Jesus taught, sects sprang up around feelings of difference, and hatred and envy grew. But the religion of Christ stressed oneness, and oneness alone. When Jesus was suffering on the cross, anger rose up in Him, quite naturally, against those who were tormenting Him. That very instant a voice without a body rang out: “ALL LIFE IS ONE, MY DEAR SON! Be alike to every one” (All living beings are one; dear son! Look on all with one eye and hold them as one), it taught. “DEATH IS THE DRESS OF LIFE” (death is only a change of clothes), it warned.
Natural signs
The purpose of great souls' lives is precisely to teach oneness and bring about the good of the people and the welfare of the world. At the hour when Jesus was born.
