In plain words
Sai has no enemies at all
Every form in the world meets with enmity, but for Sai alone no enemies are to be seen anywhere. Some, nursing misconceptions, look only at outward acts and forget the principle of the heart, and so they imagine that Sai too has enemies. In their eyes there may seem to be enemies, but in My eyes there are no enemies at all. Everyone is dear to Me. The wealth and riches I have, no one else in the world has. Not even the World Bank holds as much wealth as I have. Nor do emperors and great kings. What is that wealth? What are those riches? Selfless, pure Prema. Because I live My life with selfless, pure Prema, My body too stays so full of radiance. You can look at the form of those who keep their sixtieth birthday and judge for yourselves. Today this body is celebrating its sixtieth birthday, playing and singing. Even today I can play, I can sing, I can run, I can see, I can hear. I am like a youth of sixteen. There is no weakness of any kind in this body. The cause of it is My own holy nature. People make no effort to recognise such a principle. Keeping only outward acts in view, they take them for weaknesses and go on talking.
To misjudge the principle of God is the mark of Ajñāna
When anyone moves away from Sai, “Some have moved away from Sai Baba. Now Sai Baba's strength may wane,” people think. It is not for want of liking for Me that they move away. They move away because their own wishes are not fulfilled. Those who long for a worldly life, afraid that their wishes may not come about while they stay near Me, shake Me off and go out into the world. When anyone questions them, they make up some misconception or other about Sai Baba to save their good name. If they gain honour by reviling Me, that too gives Me joy. Their gaining honour in this way is also a help that comes from Me. Is the ocean there because of the rivers? Or do the rivers flow because of the ocean? If we inquire, we come to know that the rivers flow only because of the ocean. Their honour and standing grow because they take refuge in Me; My honour and standing do not grow because of them.
A fox saw a vineyard heavy with ripe fruit, went into it and tried in many ways to get the grapes. But the grapes were out of the fox's reach. At last, fed up, it was coming away. A crow that saw the fox asked, “Cousin Fox! Cousin Fox! Did you have a fine feast of grapes?” Then the fox: “Bah, those grapes are sour. That is why I did not eat them,” it said, so the story goes. The fox said the grapes were sour because they were out of its reach. In the same way, some people with a fox's cunning, when Sai does not fall to their lot, turn away in disgust and go on nursing hostile feelings. Beyond that, no one has any right to point out even the slightest fault in Sai. The reason is this: Mine is a selfless feeling. A heart that looks to the good of others. A nature that seeks the welfare of all. A heart that holds the world's Ānanda as My Ānanda. Because the heart is such, I live My life in an Ānanda that grows from day to day. Not for one moment is sorrow to be seen in Me. You should try to look in Me for such qualities alone; to long for petty things and misjudge the principle of God is the first mark of Ajñāna.
