When you wish to attain true humanness and individuality, you simply have to take up service! Selfishness simply has to be given up! Service to the country simply has to be your chief aim! With this aim, the journey simply has to go on until the goal is reached! For this there is no such thing as an age limit or retirement. Even your last breath you must give up in service itself. Service alone is the goal of our life. With such a Lord and such servants, any work, however great, can be achieved. Without servants, the Lord has no worth. Without the Lord, the servants do not follow the right path.
Only when a stone like Ahalyā and a foot like Rāma's foot come together is there release from the curse. When there is a Lord like Sathya Sai and servants like the Sai devotees, any number of hardships can be overcome. Between the two of us a close bond of kinship has formed. Neither can you be without Sai, nor Sai without you. Make this firm, and enter into service.
Another matter. Devotees are anxious that after sixty Swami will not be within everyone's reach, that a change will come over Swami. Mine is not a nature that changes. They think Swami will move away from the devotees, but that will never happen. Swami will draw nearer still. What changes is not divinity. The principle of Sathya Sai is what is Satya. So no change will ever come in Me. Rid yourselves of misconceptions and take part in service. Without service to the people there is no happiness and Śānti....
