In plain words
Their eyes go only to the buildings they put up above. They do not look below. Those who go below make the ground hollow as they go, but those above the ground give it no thought. Both are highly educated! One's mind goes this way, the other's goes that way. Hollow below, a weight above: how is this possible? The one who made the hollow is educated, and the one who put up the buildings is educated! It is only because they go on without looking before and after that they fall into such disasters. They go on with nothing but a narrow mind. There is no broad mind. Only when breadth goes along with learning do we come to well-being. There are all the Ph.D. students here. They must recognise this. Because Bhārata is very short of petroleum and metals, they are searching the ground in all sorts of places, setting up machines and drawing these out in every way. In creation, whatever substance must be in the earth, in whatever region and in whatever measure, must be there in just that measure. In our stomach too, every substance must be there in exactly the measure it should be. If any substance falls a little short, acid comes in and settles. In the same way, if in this earth each substance is there in each place, in the manner and the measure it should be, the earth stays balanced. Now, so that Bhārata's problems may be solved, they go on with a merely narrow mind, enter wherever they please, and draw out petrol, oil, iron and zinc in many ways. On this earth, one thing serves as food for another creature. Small fish are food for big fish. In the same way, one thing grows for the sake of another. Today they are killing off ninety crore tons of fish in the sea. Even within the sea the balance is being lost. By this, the way is opened for many problems to come. Now in some regions we get no water at all. There are some physics teachers here. All of you know about the water problem. It is not only a matter of saying it in our classroom.
