In plain words
Such a devotee, the moment he hears the voice of God, forgets himself and thrills. It is because this principle of Prema is in them that God too protects them in many ways.
The principle of supreme Prema is only for experience; it is not within the reach of enquiry at all
Once Kṛṣṇa told Uddhava about this nectar of Bhakti: "Uddhava! You think the Gopīs are merely mad. Simple innocents. They are garlands of complete Bhakti. They rule My heart. Pure, unmoving, radiant. The nature of the Gopīs with such sacred Bhakti is beyond description. They wish for no fruit of any kind from Me. They long for My divinity alone, choose My divinity alone, and melt in the stream of My divine Prema and forget themselves. It is not possible for others to understand the Bhakti of such Gopīs."
At another time, the moment the Gopīs heard the sweet, enchanting music of Kṛṣṇa's flute, they left their homes and ran to the forest. Reaching the heart of the forest, unable to bear separation from Kṛṣṇa, they grieved in many ways and went on questioning every bush, every plant, the flowers, and every tree. Truly, in their eyes the inert and the living were seen as one. Otherwise, could flowers, trees and bushes tell them of Kṛṣṇa's coming? Such Viveka and knowledge were nothing to them. Keeping in view only the nectar of Kṛṣṇa's Prema, they went on asking the trees, the flowers and the plants, "Where is our Kṛṣṇa?" So that these plants should know who Kṛṣṇa was, the Gopīs went on telling all of Kṛṣṇa's marks.
The dark one, the one with lotus eyes, the one who sprinkles the nectar of grace upon us, the one with the peacock feather waving on His crown, the one whose face is radiant with a smile: one such has come and stolen all we have. O jasmines, is He not hiding behind your bushes? Tell us!
