Passage 6

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

So use your speech well! Think first, and then use your words. For whatever word you use will one day come back to you.

In the same way, whatever work we do, we must think well: Is it good or bad? Is it useful or useless? Will it harm others or help them? Think about this, and then enter on that act. Students must first try to see that their words and their acts agree.

All the students of the Sathya Sai institutions must cultivate a fine Prema

In any game you may win prizes, or you may not. There are many kinds of games. In all of them you may win the first prize, or even something greater than that. But whether you win in them or not, no great loss comes of it. You lose nothing by it. Some cup may come, or you may get a pen. None of these is lasting. In time they may be spoilt. In one game alone you will have to win a good prize. That is the Game of Love. If you pass in this game, your whole life will be of the best. It is a thing that does not change at all. It is the Prema of God. This you must win. Before you enter on any work, you must consider whether it can win the Prema of God or not. All the children who study in the Sathya Sai Institute must recognise the fine principle of Prema. We must hate no one. At no time must you use words that cause others pain. "In my life, without hurting others, without harming others, without paining others, and without being pained myself, have me do the karmas that will win God's grace and God's Prema": so you must bow once to karma, bow to God who is the Lord of karma, and then enter on these karmas.
