Passage 7

In plain words

Do not think evil, do not see it, do not hear it: this is the good way to attain divinity

You have the right only to do karma; the fruit is not yours. That is God's will. The fruit will surely come. Whatever we do, we must be ready to receive its fruit, if not today then tomorrow. That is why in the Bhagavad Gītā too: "Karmaṇy evādhikāras te": you have the right only to do karma. "The fruit is not in your hands": so it is taught. We must do those karmas too as the highest karmas, as sacred karmas, as karmas that help others. What all the children must above all keep in their hearts is that everything has its Reaction, Reflection, Resound; they must make that faith firm. For the time being you may not see its fruit. But in the future you will certainly have to experience the fruit of karma. So in the present itself we must do our karma with great care. The strip of sari once given to Kṛṣṇa on a Sankrānti day bore its fruit for Draupadī when Duryodhana, Duśśāsana and the rest tried to strip her of her garments and shame her in the full assembly: what was the cause of that? What connection is there between that and this? The small good karma Draupadī did had taken root in Kṛṣṇa's heart. So every single good karma stays fixed in God's heart, whether you see it or not. For example, in the hot season no plants can be seen in the bed of a river. Not one green spot is to be seen. Wherever you look it is desert. But if it rains one day, by the third day green grass sprouts. If you ask how green grass that was not there before has come today, the seed of each sprout was in the earth. As soon as the rain came, it came out in the form of a plant. In the same way, in your daily life it may seem that there are no troubles and no pains.
