In plain words
When this thought "I" is not there, the world too does not appear to us. When the world is not there, sorrow too is not there. As soon as we rise again from sleep, this thought "I" has begun. As soon as this thought "I" begins, the whole of Prakṛti appears to us. When this shows itself to us, sorrow begins. So only the education that drives away this sorrow, draws near to Ānanda and experiences the Ātma-principle is true education. That is self Realisation. For this self realisation you must first develop faith in the Ātma. That is self confidence. That alone gives you Ānanda. When we develop self confidence, self satisfaction gives contentment. As long as you have this confidence, you will have no discontent at all. If you have some discontent, the inner meaning is simply that your confidence is not sound. So if we first develop sound confidence in our hearts, the whole nation will live in true light. Light a lamp in each house whole street will be lighted. If you light the lamp of your faith in your own heart, this whole world will appear full of light. So first of all try to light this divine flame that is within you. If you forget such a true, eternal, ideal and fundamental matter and study only to get marks and remarks, nothing at all comes of it. How many educated people there are! How many great scholars there are in this world! All of them lose their Ānanda, sink in unrest and give up their lives in hopelessness and despair. Hitler. Hitler made the whole world tremble. He thought he was such a great genius. But his own Ahaṅkāra took his life. As one feels, so one becomes. He could not escape suffering the result of what he had done. Newton discovered the gravitation of this earth. He was a man of great power. A genius. A man of great intelligence. But in his life he did not experience Ānanda. Newton did research in many ways and in the end died in madness. His mind gave way. So we must not lose our natural life by using our intelligence in searching among these passing things for our truth, for what is eternal.
