In plain words

In this world, only when we enquire with a broad heart into the law of thought does our life enjoy Śānti and happiness. If we act without recognising this law of thought, we have to face many troubles and losses. Only when we use this law on the right path is there a chance to put to good use all the powers that are in man. When thoughts take contrary paths, we have to face troubles, losses and sorrows of one kind or another. We have to enquire into every thought and make some effort to defeat certain evil thoughts. A fish swims against the current and tries to escape danger. In the same way, only when we set this law against contrary thoughts can we enjoy a peaceful life without falling into danger.
The root cause of thought is our life itself. All of life is made of thoughts. Not life alone: the whole world is made of thoughts. Saṅkalpa-vikalpātmakaṃ manaḥ. The influence of the mind spreads over man and over the world. So the nature of the mind spreads itself through man. The thoughts in the mind, whether good or bad, dance their reflections on our face itself. Anger, hatred, envy, Ahaṅkāra, ostentation and all such bad qualities show on a man's face like sores. When there are patience, sympathy, Prema, kindness, compassion and such qualities, that person's face is serene, radiant and attractive. So all that is good and bad is reflected from the subtle mind onto the gross face. Our face is like a gramophone record. When we look at a gramophone record, we cannot see the words at all. They can be heard. In the same way, the good and bad thoughts that have gathered in our heart show on our face, just as the words are heard from a gramophone record. So only when we cultivate our thoughts in the right way is there a chance for our life to be fulfilled.
Thoughts arise in us in many kinds.
