Passage 1

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

The cātaka longs at every hour for the moonlight, the bee longs to come close to the flower, the sick man longs every day for a pleasant medicine; the One who dwells in Parthi longs for those devoted to Him.

Students and teachers, embodiments of Prema!

In every human being there are three bodies, called the gross, the subtle and the causal. When we make pure the gross body with pure food, the mind, which is the subtle body, with pure desires, and the antaḥkaraṇa, which is the causal body, with pure thoughts, it becomes possible to manifest the divinity called the inner Ātma. Only then can man become complete. Every young woman and young man must study moral education without fail, for the sake of individuality. Truly, to recognise the divinity that is in humanness is the chief Dharma. To make individuality manifest is precisely the chief duty. In ancient times students prayed to Sarasvatī, the goddess of learning, to grant them good conduct, Satya and beauty. Wherever Satya and good conduct are, right there natural beauty springs forth. Viveka, control of the senses and a regulated discipline are the chief marks of man.

On the journey of life, man goes on choosing certain rules for the sake of his conduct. These very rules may be called moral rules. The moral may also be called the pure. From the Sanskrit word "nita" came the word "nīti". This nīti means orderly and good conduct: that is its meaning. Good conduct joined with order is the very inner meaning of nīti. Morality is the royal road that takes man to a pure and exalted place. The day morality is lost in man, or in a society, a kingdom or an individual, that day that kingdom, that society, that individual too falls. Not only do they fall: the civilisation earned over so many years falls too. "A race without morality goes to ruin," they have said. Morality itself is the life-breath of the human race. Morality itself is the essence of that life-breath. In life, morality alone is the true ideal. Only because such morality is lost today is the human race declining.
