Passage 8

In plain words

"Whether woman or man, one must develop faith in karma. One must develop the faith that says, 'Karma itself is my duty.' So only he who looks on karma as his duty is a man." This he saw in the Buddhist teaching. He tried to recognise the harmony that is in all of them. So he understood that the harmony of all lies within the very morality and integrity of the people of Bhārata. So he made the effort to begin the moral values of the people of Bhārata in Greece. So the Greeks tried to imitate Bhārata. Alexander too, because he came to Bhārata bowing to his guru's command, took back with him the Bhagavad Gītā, Ganges water, the soil of Bhārata and the Mahābhārata. Though all these sacred things are in Bhārata, truly, like the shadow under a lamp, we have fallen into this darkness, been deluded by all this of others, and only because we take refuge in it is our life fading away like this.

In this management, the ethos and values of Bhārata are very necessary. Wealth, fame, honour or renown that we gain with morality and integrity stands forever. They are earning money by the path of immorality, by the path of Asatya, by the path of wrongdoing. But it can never bear out the path of Satya. It cannot enjoy happiness and Śānti. It cannot give honour and respect. Today there is a great deal of Business Communication. This communication should go only as far as it should. But because it goes beyond its limits, the country is losing its well-being. A small example. Today, because our communication is so great, suppose some small trouble breaks out in our Bangalore, because of some students; in some factory a strike breaks out. Because all these communications are so great, the next minute it reaches Delhi, Punjab, all these places. Within one single day, riots begin all over the world. So through this communication, bad happens far more than good, and the good is very little. So, building up great hopes and wanting to grow a great deal, we are trying to develop these money lots. Within our Bhārata, this management and that management: this is not what we need. Man management is needed. Only when there is Man management does this go on in order.
