Passage 10

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

Once Pramīlā sent for Arjuna: “Arjuna! Fight with me and defeat me. Then you may go, if you like,” she said. Arjuna was caught there in a dilemma of dharma: even if he won against Pramīlā, what glory is there in winning against women? If he lost to Pramīlā, people would think he had been beaten by women. ‘At such a time, am I to fight Pramīlā? Or am I to hold back?’ he thought. From time without beginning our Bhārata has weighed it in so many ways, that for a marriage or for a fight the two sides must be equal. So we must see clearly in this way the condition the students are in, and act on it. This organising is not right at all.

Another small matter: some students are playing. If those watching the games are full of enthusiasm, the students playing are all the more spirited. But there is no one at all to watch these students' games. All our Institute's students come and sit in the Mandir. Then how is the spirit of the students playing to grow? Why not lay down a rule that during the games all the students must be on the field? How many of the students living on the Prasanthi Nilayam campus took part in these games? Not even eighty percent took part. Who noticed this? For whom did we hold these games? What did we hold the games for? If they do not notice this, what is the use of these officers being there? Such things cause me great pain.

To teach the worldly subjects together with moral, dhārmic and spiritual learning, all brought into one, is the Sathya Sai way of education

There are so many thousands of colleges in the world. What is the inner meaning of our founding a college? We must show forth the sacred moral ideal. We must bring divine feelings into the students. We must enlarge the broad vision called unity.
