In plain words

We must sing freely. We must not sing with disbelief in the Divine. We must sing with full faith and with Prema. Only when you shout loudly in your anguish that you have fallen into a well will someone come and rescue you. That itself is the cry of anguish! Gajendra pleaded, 'Save me, O Īśvara!' God is not somewhere far away. He is in one's own heart, all around one, everywhere, wherever one looks. But He comes just according to the feeling the devotee has. Draupadī too was just the same! “O Kṛṣṇa! Friend in every trouble! Save me, save me!” she prayed. 'O Dweller in Dvārakā!' she said. 'O Sporting One of Bṛndāvana!' she said. She called Him by so many names. Holding her garment with one hand, she was calling with the other raised. At last she grew tired. Raising both hands, 'O Dweller in the heart!' she called. At once Kṛṣṇa came. 'Kṛṣṇa! Why did You take so long?' she asked. “When you say ‘Sporting One of Bṛndāvana’, I have to come from Bṛndāvana, don't I! When you say ‘Sporting One of Mathurā’, how far is Mathurā from here? Now you said ‘Dweller in the heart’. I came at once,” said Kṛṣṇa! “Not only that: for some time you were relying on your own strength. With one hand you tried to protect yourself. Now you have given everything up completely and asked for protection, so I came,” answered Kṛṣṇa. In everything there must be tyāga. Selfishness must go.

One's own strength

A little story. A devotee was always remembering the name of Hari, 'Nārāyaṇa, Nārāyaṇa'. He went to a great king and displayed his learning. The king gave him silk clothes. He accepted the silk clothes and came back. Some time went by. One day he went to the river, bathed, washed the silk cloth and hung it out to dry. While he was reciting mantras and doing his daily rite, that silk cloth blew away in the wind. Close by, a washerman was washing clothes. He saw him. He too was wearing just such a dhoti. The great king had put it in for washing. The washerman had put that dhoti on, thinking he would wear it at least for a while.
