In plain words
Persona means a sacred, divine portion. One who was divine they respectfully called Persona. From that Persona came Person. From that Person came Personality. So what is a Person? One endowed with sacred Divinity is a Person. Every human being is the very embodiment of a sacred portion of God. Today we have forgotten such a divine form of the Ātma. What we have forgotten we must bring back to mind. To bring it back to mind, we must root out the Māyā that has covered it. What is that covering Māyā? Our hatred, envy and selfishness. To root out these three, there is no way but Prema alone. Only by that Prema does every kind of courage come to us.
At one time a head of a religious order summoned Jesus. "Are you king of the Jews?" he asked. I do not say so. "But you are teaching everyone a wrong path. For you say that every single one must go to heaven through you; this is very wrong," he said. Jesus said a single word. "Seek the kingdom of Heaven." He said. "Where is that," he said. Kingdom of Heaven is with in YOU, with in Me, within everybody. So this Kingdom of Heaven is within ourselves. "It is impossible that I, who give such teaching, should say that the Kingdom of Heaven is through Me alone," He said. How did this courage come? Courage arises from Satya alone. Where does Satya come from? It comes from Śānti alone. Where does Śānti come from? It comes about through Prema alone. Where does this Prema come from? It comes from confidence alone. That is why:
Where there is confidence there is Love Where there is Love there is Peace Where there is Peace there is Bliss Where there is Bliss there is GOD.
If we are to attain Divinity on such a path, faith must grow.
In Bhārata they speak of Divinity as the forms of Brahmā, Viṣṇu and Maheśvara. We believe it. These three do not take three shapes and give darśan like film actors. There is no one in this world who has seen these forms. They came into being to foster a kind of faith. They are only a delusion. But these Brahmā, Viṣṇu and Maheśvara dwell in the heart of every one. "The Lord of the heart is Īśa," they said. That is, the heart itself is the nature of Īśvara. The heart itself is the principle of the Ātma. The heart itself is Divinity.
