Passage 12

In plain words

There, individuality must be forgotten. It is for want of concentration that you meet such defeats. Just because the bat is in your hand, you must not hit every ball that comes. There are some to be let go. There are some to be hit. Many played cricket. And it made no sense at all. This one hits, that one hits; this one runs, that one runs. This is not the right method at all. So we must first of all understand the method properly. When one has understood it and puts it into practice, joy comes to one. Even in defeat he feels as much joy as if victory had come. If he has not truly understood it, even when he wins it gives him no satisfaction. Suppose someone is singing. Some who do not know the song may all clap. But if it goes off key, however many clap, the singer has no satisfaction. That is why self-satisfaction is vital. When one is satisfied within, satisfaction comes to all. So, for one who is not satisfied within, however many others are satisfied, all those satisfied can only be called fools. So play in a way that satisfies you. Practise your method well. See that you do not break the rules that belong to the game. Thinking it is enough to score some goal or other, you must not cross the line and shoot. So our children must be given special training in the method of the game. And for students these games are very necessary. What is eaten must be digested. What is digested must go into good strength, into the blood. Merely eating brings no benefit. There must be games enough to digest it. In boyhood a good body must be made like a ball of steel. In a strong body a strong mind will dwell. When those two are strong, there is not one thing in the world we cannot achieve. Then even God’s grace can be won.

So, of all the tasks man has to achieve in this world, the most important is the Prema of God. That must be achieved. He who has won that Prema can achieve anything.
