In plain words

Only while it stays like this is it a healthy body. Let it reach 99°F, and disease has set in. Our Blood Pressure of 120/80 is perfectly normal. If it comes a little lower, to 98 or 85, it goes against the normal. Disease begins. The heartbeat is the same. Let it go a little higher, and the heart has become weak. Eye sight too. You can see only up to a certain limit. If you look at too much light, the retina is burnt. And the eardrums: are they not the same? In this way, if you examine the parts of our body one by one, every one of them keeps to its own rule. So, seen this way, our whole life is outwardly limited. That being so, how can it work if there is no limit in the spiritual life? So the Rules and Regulations of discipline must be uniform in the Sathya Sai Organisation. It must not be one way in one State and another way in another State. The kinds of sevā may differ, the places may differ. But our ideals must be of one standard. Wherever you go among the Sai organisations, you must show the principle of Prema, being very humble, obedient, respecting your elders, and speaking well with parents. Whether you walk in a bazaar, or go to a hospital or to the market, even strangers should be able to tell from our conduct, from our behaviour, from our discipline, that we belong to the Sathya Sai Organisation. Discipline must follow us like a Shadow. In the same way, our discipline must come with us like a Shadow, one and the same, whether at home or in the bazaar, or even when we go abroad. Discipline is a way of life. It must be a part of our life.

We must follow our inner Ātma

It must be such as follows the two, Devotion and discipline. Discrimination: how? Whatever work you do, you must discriminate: is it good or bad, is it right or wrong? Without this discrimination there can be no discipline, without discipline no devotion, and without devotion no dedication.
