Today, truly, we must enter into business management, develop holy management in the country, increase the growth and making of goods in this field of trade, and foster the noble feeling that the world should share them equally among all. The production of goods comes first. To protect the goods once produced is another chief point. To supply the protected goods to all is another chief aim. So, if we ask how we should proceed today: first, production. How should that production be? It should come out from our heart, like a projection. For this production there must be communication with the workers. We must collect the goods these workers make. Once this collection is made, we must see how to keep it safe. Only when everything is like this does everything come to us right. So for all of these, direction is very much needed first. Only when proper direction is given to the workers do they produce; from the production they gather a collection, and from this collection we must take connection. This is the all-round communication of business.
Now we have no relation with the workers. We do not give thought to how this production is going. Many know this. Drucker developed this business management. Drucker himself, who created all of it, has changed his whole mind today. He is 87 years old and still alive, poor man. But now, what I did was wrong; I kept only the positive well in mind, but the negative too is needed. Only when both the negative and the positive are there does this get its right meaning. So today production is very much needed: this he came to know for himself. Now another new man has set about noting what is right in this management and proclaiming it to the world: one William. Now everywhere one looks, whether in Russia, in America or in Japan, changes are coming everywhere.
Students! In the past, American business was simply for America alone. Indian business was for India alone. But the Indians all used to adopt American business and develop it. In those days it was business management for one nation. But today, in whatever country you do business, it is international business. Everything has changed today. We are bringing in machines from Japan. We are bringing them in from America and Russia. For its parts … we must go to them, and they must come to us. All this connection is there. Today all business is taking shape as international business.
