In plain words
From time beyond beginning our Bhārata has taught Satya and Dharma in many ways. That is why the sacred sayings "Satyaṃ vada, dharmaṃ cara" echo even today. So when such a divine Bhārata brings this in with Satya and Dharma, with forbearance and sympathy, there will be no greater welfare for the country than this. We must grow broad in such divine feeling. If we keep crying "science, science" and only increase science, and Viveka is lost, that science is wasted. So one man with a good mind is enough, rather than a hundred clever men. A good mind must arise. Through one who has that good mind the whole world can be changed for the better, as much as you like. So man means one who has come from the mind; only when the mind is noble and holy does he take shape as a man. So we must develop such a mind. You may have any amount of discrimination of the senses. The senses may be developed to any extent. Mental development may be greater still. The development of the intellect may be keener still. Along with these, you must recognise that spiritual development is essential. Without this spiritual development itself, this development of the senses, of the mind and of the intellect becomes merely artificial. It becomes merely a mechanical life. No; we must make it a life of mantra. Our life is not a thing of machines. It is to show the divine path to such divine humanness that we began these organisations. According to your strength, enter society and serve your fellow men. Do not go in for show, saying "this much, that much". Do not bring in Ahaṅkāra. Become a divine servant. Without being a servant, one is no leader. Without being an attendant, one is no Śaṅkara. So the workers in this are like a backbone to all the organisations.
Embodiments of Prema! Above all, you who are the workers must walk the right path. If you go any wrong way, everyone else will go the wrong way too. So if you wish to shape the world in the right way, the workers must develop high and unselfish feelings. In the spirit of service we must not let in selfishness at all, nor self-interest at all. And we must give no room at all to show. This life of show is today changing the whole world.
