In plain words
In all worldly matters this show has grown. It has become a fashion. It is harmful to the country, not useful. When you want to be constructive, you must stay in selfless service. This show will destroy the country. So all the Sathya Sai organisations must, without show, without Ahaṅkāra and without selfishness, develop the sacred principle of Prema, develop the divine principle of sacrifice, and put forbearance and sympathy into practice. That is the quality fit for a true servant. Beyond this, we must not wield authority. Authority is the same for all. But in duty, when you are in some position, you must try to see whether he is doing it properly or not.
Prema has no authority at all. Our discipline must be bound up with Prema. None of the ways of our organisations must be a military force. They must be a force of Prema. Speak with Prema. If there are any faults, speak of them only with Prema. In all things we must develop the principle of Prema. It is with this in view that
Start the day with Love Spend the day with Love Fill the day with Love End the day with Love This is the way to God.
We must live with Prema alone, in every way. Prema is God. God is everywhere. All of you are embodiments of Prema. Live in Prema alone. Serve with Prema alone. Rejoice with Prema alone. Merge in this Prema itself. This itself is the chief duty of Prema, of true service. With no other concern at all, all the Sathya Sai organisations must grow, offering Prema, Prema, heart to heart, Prema to Prema; there must be no room at all in our organisations for money or for any other kind of authority. I need no temples. No shrines are needed. No rites of yajña and yāga are needed. Our karma itself is our yajña. Our service itself is our rite.
So from today we must give up this vice of collecting money within the Sathya Sai organisations, whether in the name of yajñas and yāgas, in the name of temples, or in any other name. I have been saying it many, many times. We must have no connection at all with money. There must be a connection with virtue; but the very people who are in the organisations are making this collection of money and building up close ties to some extent.
