In plain words
Born into the glorious solar dynasty, wedding Sītā Devī with love, lifting Ahalyā's curse with Prema, protecting His dear devotees, glorious Raghu- Rāma, Rāma, Rāma, Sītā; Rāma, Rāma, Rāma, Sītā. Slaying the demons Khara and Dūṣaṇa, in compassion setting right Jaṭāyu's end, saving Śarabhaṅga and the other great sages, eating Śabarī's fruits with Prema: Rāma, Rāma, Rāma, Sītā; Rāma, Rāma, Rāma, Sītā. First blessing Hanumān, gladly protecting the son of the Sun, slaying Vāli in crushing wrath, saving the monkey heroes who came to Him: Rāma, Rāma, Rāma, Sītā; Rāma, Rāma, Rāma, Sītā.
Before this, Sītā did not know who this Hanumān was. Only after Sītā went to the Aśoka grove did Rāma's friendship with Hanumān begin. That is why this Hanumān went on singing, beautifully, of the bond that had come about between Rāma and Hanumān. That is, he went on handing Sītā, neatly, like a visiting card, who he was and what close bond he had with Rāma. Hearing all this, Sītā overflowed with a joy beyond compare. From this it became clear that for man Ānanda is not to be found in beautiful objects, in beautiful things or in beautiful persons. Ānanda arises only in what a man likes. But toward what one does not like, Ānanda does not arise at all. Beauty gives Ānanda. That is why: ‘Beauty is Ānanda; Ānanda is the honey of life,’ they said. What does the man who seeks Ānanda today need? Not beautiful things: Ānanda lies within oneself. To make the Ānanda within oneself come forth, one must develop inner vision.
Students! All the time we keep strengthening only our outward vision. Whether Ānanda, comfort or happiness, it comes forth from within us alone; it does not enter us from outside. Every sight we see is only a reflection of what is within us. Reflection of inner being. To recognise its principle, we must develop sacred feelings within us. ‘Paśyatīti paśuḥ,’ they said. What has outward vision is an animal. We must develop inner vision. In man there lies a kind of divine power. We must bring out that divine power lying within. A small example. Today, having studied the B.A., the M.A., the B.Com., the M.Com., you have risen to so high a position. All these were made known through books, but all of them are within us.
