Passage 7

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

What is the cause of this? Only when the quality of the material changes does its value in the market change. A small example. Here, in the environment too, things become clear through small examples. There is a soap factory. In its manufacturing, the soap is at first all liquid. They put this liquid into a number of moulds. In our villages they set jaggery moulds. In this way, when they pour in all the liquid and take it out after it has dried, it comes out like the jaggery moulds. In that way they set out all the moulds fit for that soap and pour this liquid into them. After pouring it like this, they must use only as much air as these need. At times, if in this combination, in which materials are to be mixed and how, there is a change in quality, the whole top first turns hard. Inside, there is liquid. After such things are packed and go to the market, all of them jam inside on account of this atmosphere. The value of this soap falls in the market. So here we must keep the rules well. When we set the quality in the right way, whatever atmosphere it goes into, there is no change in its state. So we must keep the rules for it. What rules there are in the Market, what rules in the Factory, how our workers are, in what state our raw material is: all this is to some extent the environment, and all this we must inquire into.

Today the management of businesses suited to our Bhārata is not taking place. That is why today we must recognise well what is called nature of nation. We hold on to America and follow those rules. The nature is that one; the nation is this one. Indian nation, American nature. So the right harmony must be struck between nation and nature. Business that follows America, business that follows Russia, business that follows Britain: all these are closing down. That is why we must develop the nature fit for our nation. Look at a small example. You know: near Patna they started a steel factory. If you think of setting up a steel factory in Bihar, you must look into everything. This steel factory needs coal, which is important. It is not ordinary coal. They call it pit coal. Getting it is of the first importance. It was to be had only for a while. After that it could not be had. That is why they closed that factory there. We must inquire into the nature, in keeping with our nation: where, and in what situation, these Raw materials are to be had. In Mysore too there is Kudremukh.
