In plain words
You must recognise one more thing. You are getting five hundred rupees a month as pay. You want more promotion. You dig your heels in and say your pay must be increased still more. They make it six hundred. You are pleased that you are getting more, but the price of the goods you produce goes up. If you want to buy those goods, you have to pay more. Once again only five hundred remains. You have to spend the extra hundred rupees you were given on goods. You are glad your pay has gone up, but when you want to get those goods, you have to give that pay back again. You need not go that far. When you were getting 500 rupees as pay, your landlord was taking two hundred as rent. If yours becomes six hundred, they will raise it another hundred. This kind of balance has been developing from the start. First of all balance is essential for a man. You may swagger that you have knowledge. Only when knowledge has fitting nourishment is it in balance.
First comes knowledge. It is at the top level. We must skill knowledge. If you skill knowledge, then it is in balance. But today they are not skilling knowledge; they are killing it. Because they are killing this knowledge, the balance is being lost. Today you take knowledge alone as your support. You do not recognise that the balance is being lost. The whole of life rests on balance alone. In business or in management the balance must be right. Workers, market, transport, production, raw material, current, water: you must recognise well the balance of whether each of these is in its proper state. Only when we regard all of them evenly do we get the result we hope for. In this way balance is quite essential not only in business matters but in the matters of our life too. In human life many troubles, losses, sorrows and griefs keep happening. For all of them there must be a certain balance. If we rejoice one minute and weep the next, the balance in us wears away altogether. Sorrow has come; knowing that sorrow has its fruit, you must restrain it to some extent. In the world, where there is a rise in one place there is a hollow in another. The evenness of the two is always one. A man is digging a well.
