In plain words
Forgive Me," He asked. God, who knows so well the nature of such a devotee of God, surely yields Himself to him of His own accord.
Where there is ego and show, there He too is in the same way. So, "yad bhāvaṃ tad bhavati." "In whatever measure anyone thinks of Me, in just that measure am I," said Annamācārya. So it rests on your thought, not on God's resolve. The whole world is like a full-length mirror. Say "like this" four times before a full-length mirror, and it says it too. Go before a full-length mirror and bow, and it gives the bow back to you. So whatever you do within the mirror called the world, it is "Resound reflection." What is yours comes back to you. Do good, see good, think good, speak good, and be good. This alone is the right meaning of humanness. Within such a principle of Śaraṇāgati, humanness has some authority. But whatever you do, do it with the feeling that all karma is for the love of God. Not like this: Good has come about: that is the power of my strength. It has gone wrong: that is God's doing. They keep telling it in Telugu. A miser is putting up a wedding pandal. All right: thinking that thick ropes for tying it would cost money, he had it tied with little thin ropes. They tied the poles with very thin ropes. The wind came. It fell down. These poles fell down. "Knock down the almanac fellow!" he said, it seems. The almanac man was the one at fault. The auspicious hour he fixed turned out to be the fault. What if a mother, out of Prema for her child, wanting to kiss the child, bites the child? So when you kiss the child, you must take care that no harm comes to it. In the same way, how can what brings toil, what brings pain, be Prema? What use is it to repeat "I Love I Love" like a gramophone record? It must be proved in practice. Otherwise it becomes useless. On a gramophone record a woman sings, weeping. Yet tears come even to the eyes of the one listening. But the gramophone record does not weep. In the same way our Prema too, when we say "I Love", is words only, like a gramophone. In it there is no Love at all. It must be shown in practice. Only then will humanness give the fitting ideal well.
So, students, you must in no way think that Swami is punishing you, or is angry, or is blessing you. See that you seek out your faults and that you are without those faults. These mad qualities are not in Me. For Me there is always Prema alone. But it is reaction. According to what is yours, I have to do that action. You yourselves are the cause of that reaction.
